Why raising your pricing feels personal (and what to do about it)

“You’re not avoiding rejection. You’re already living it—quietly, daily, in your pricing.”
If you’ve ever found yourself softening your voice during a sales conversation, tweaking your pricing page for the tenth time, or packing your premium offer with unnecessary bonuses just to make it feel "worth it," this post is for you.
Because the truth is your pricing isn’t just about strategy.
It’s about emotional safety.
It’s about the version of you who still braces every time she has to say a number out loud.
It’s about the survival patterns running quietly underneath your business.
And I want to speak to her today.

Your Nervous System Is Pricing Your Offers
Let’s cut to it.
You’re not struggling with pricing because you don’t know your value. You’re struggling because your nervous system is still wired to associate being fully seen—fully expressed—with danger.
That’s why you’re not charging more.
That’s why you feel that deep contraction in your chest every time you think about raising your rates or speaking your full power.
Your body isn’t broken. It’s brilliant. It’s trying to protect you.
But it’s using old data.
It’s reacting to rejection that hasn't even happened yet—but that it’s bracing for as if it already has.
And that bracing? It leaks into your voice, your copy, your calls, your client relationships, and yes, your income.
You’re Not Avoiding Rejection—You’re Already Living It
Let me say something tender and true: most of the emotional crashes we’re trying to avoid by shrinking our prices, overgiving, or whispering our value?
We’re already living them.
Every time you price for what feels “accessible” but abandon your needs to do so...
Every time you preemptively discount before someone even asks...
Every time you energetically apologise for existing in your full expertise...
You are rejecting yourself.
And what I want you to see is that this is the root of the pricing wobble—not a lack of strategy or professionalism or polish.
It’s emotional incongruence.
And congruence is the real currency of premium offers.
My Turning Point in Bali: The Question That Changed Everything
A while ago, I was in Bali, floating in a pool with my mentor after already running a Mastermind, already charging higher prices, already “there” in so many ways.
But I was stuck.
I kept asking her: “What am I missing? Why isn’t this working? What do high-ticket clients need to hear from me?”
Her answer wasn’t what shifted me.
What shifted me was the moment I realised that I wasn’t really asking for a strategy.
I was asking someone else to validate my worth.
There was still a younger part of me, tender and afraid, who needed to hear someone say, “You’re good enough. You’re allowed.”
That part was trying to run my business.
Until I brought her into the light, I couldn’t hold high-ticket pricing with any real integrity. Because deep down, I was still scared of being rejected.

It’s Not About the Number—It’s About the Energy Behind It
Here’s something wild.
High-ticket pricing means something entirely different to every person. For one, $1,500 is a stretch. For another, $50,000 is a yes.
So pricing isn’t about “the number.”
It’s about what you’ve linked to the number.
Is it shame? Guilt? Pressure to prove? A fear of not delivering?
Because if your price = your worth, your strategy will always be emotional warfare.
This is where many soulful women price based on their nervous system’s capacity—not their offer’s value.
And we confuse accessibility with self-abandonment. We say, “I just want to help,” but what we really mean is “I don’t want to feel like too much.”
That’s not service. That’s survival.
Why You Keep Discounting, Over-Explaining, and Over-Delivering
If this is landing, then let’s get radically honest for a second.
You’re not:
Softening your language just to be “relatable”
Discounting because it’s “kind”
Adding one-on-ones and Voxer and PDFs and bonus bundles because it “adds value”
You’re doing it to preempt rejection.
And it’s exhausting.
I say this without judgement. I’ve done it too. We all have. We’ve all coded our offers with anxiety and called it strategy.
But that’s not sustainable.
Because emotional incongruence—where you’re saying “I know my value” while energetically whispering “please don’t leave”—creates static in your field. And your audience feels it.
Even if you never say it out loud.
What Actually Shifts This: Emotional Congruence
Here’s what changed it all for me—and for hundreds of women I’ve worked with.
It wasn’t learning how to write better sales pages.
It was becoming the version of me who could drop a price into a conversation without holding my breath.
Because faking it ‘til you make it doesn’t override survival instincts.
Only emotional congruence does.
This is the shift from “How can I prove this is worth it?” to “I know my offer is sacred, and I trust you to know if it’s for you.”
That’s not just mindset.
That’s body-led business.
That’s the moment your pricing stops being a fight—and starts being an invitation.

Why High-Ticket Pricing Is Sacred, Not Shameful
Let’s reclaim something together:
It is not greedy to want to be well-paid.
It is not wrong to charge for your emotional labour, your intellectual property, your healing presence, or your lived experience.
We’ve been conditioned to feel guilt for holding value—but that’s not your truth. That’s generational patterning. That’s inherited fear. That’s economic trauma.
High-ticket pricing doesn’t mean “I’m expensive.”
It means “I’m rooted in the power of my work.”
You are not too much.
You are just becoming a woman who’s done with being underpaid.

Reflection Prompts to Close the Loop
Before you go, take 5 minutes and sit with these:
Where in your business are you still performing your worth instead of owning it?
What’s the real energy behind your current pricing—congruence or contraction?
What part of you is still waiting for someone else to say “you’re worth it”?
What would shift if your nervous system felt fully safe holding your value?
Let that awareness be your next step.
You are not too expensive.
You are just ready to stop shrinking.
And that gets to be sacred.
