How to Stop Second-Guessing Yourself and Make Business Decisions That Feel Aligned
LISTEN TO EPISODE HERE | WATCH EPISODE HERE
Have you ever felt stuck making decisions in your business? Unsure whether you're guided by your intuition or held back by fear? This inner conflict can be paralysing, but learning to recognise the difference is a game changer for both your business and your life.
Today, we’re unpacking one of the most common challenges faced by soul-led entrepreneurs: identifying whether your decisions come from alignment or fear. Why does this matter? Because decisions made from alignment bring confidence, clarity, and flow. Meanwhile, fear-based choices often result in second-guessing, procrastination, and even burnout.
By the end of this post, you’ll have actionable tools to help you:
Recognise fear masquerading as intuition.
Use your body’s wisdom to find clarity.
Leverage your Human Design type for aligned decision-making.

Your Body as a Compass
Your body is an incredible guide. Fear manifests physically as tightness, heaviness, or discomfort, while alignment feels light and open.
Take a moment to check in with your body when you’re faced with a decision:
What is your chest doing?
How does your gut feel?
Are your shoulders tense or relaxed?
One of my clients struggled to decide whether to pivot her business. Thinking about staying on her current path brought tension and shallow breathing, while imagining a pivot felt light and expansive. Her body knew what her mind couldn’t yet articulate: alignment was calling her to change.

Human Design and Decision-Making
Human Design offers a powerful lens for understanding your decision-making process. Each authority type provides a unique pathway to clarity:
Emotional Authority (Defined Solar Plexus): Decisions come after riding your emotional wave. Clarity arises from neutrality—not during emotional highs or lows.
Sacral Authority (Defined Sacral): Trust your gut responses. A “yes” feels energising, while a “no” feels draining.
Splenic Authority (Defined Spleen): Your intuition is a whisper, often fleeting. Trust your first instinct before fear or logic takes over.
Knowing your Human Design authority helps you align with your natural decision-making process.
Practical Steps to Make Aligned Decisions
Pause and Reflect: If a decision feels urgent, it’s likely fear talking. Take 24 hours to journal, meditate, or simply breathe before acting.
Scan Your Body: Notice physical sensations when visualising each option. Tension signals fear; openness signals alignment.
Ask Questions: Was this decision driven by clarity or dread? Does it feel expansive or restrictive?
Wait for Neutrality: Especially for emotional authorities, clarity often comes after the emotional wave has passed.

Alignment vs. Fear for Each Human Design Type
Generators/Manifesting Generators: Alignment feels satisfying and builds momentum. Fear creates frustration.
Projectors: Aligned decisions lead to recognition and invitations. Fear-based choices feel heavy and exhausting.
Manifestors: Alignment amplifies impact. Fear causes resistance and burnout.
Reflectors: Alignment feels like a natural unfolding. Fear feels rushed and uncertain.
The key to making aligned decisions is tuning into your body and trusting its signals. When emotions are calm and the urgency has passed, you’ll find clarity waiting for you. Fear-based decisions keep you stuck in doubt and procrastination, but alignment paves the way for ease—even when the path is challenging.
Next time you’re faced with a big decision, pause, reflect, and connect with your inner compass. Your body already knows the answer—it’s time to start listening.
